Pathaan Movie Review: Surrounded by controversy, can it excel at the box office and become a blockbuster?
Although the movie, Pathaan, is slated to be released at the box office on 25 January 2023, the controversy surrounding the movie by the very first song of the Shahrukh-Deepika duo named ‘Besharam Rang’ has hit the ground and there’s been involvement of news channels in India where anchors can be seen calling politicians and religious people to give their views and opinions. As far as public opinions are concerned, they differ in many ways because some of them have to say that the movie cannot be seen differently from the other movies because using the attire worn by the actress Deepika has been normalised while many others hold the opinion that the way dressing is being adopted by Bollywood is completely against the norms and traditions of Indian culture and hence, it should be looked after by the Censor Board very seriously. Many people have also given a religious angle to the movie and hence want the movie to be boycotted and they are also threatening the cinema halls if they intend to release the movie.
The fans of Shahrukh Khan are waiting very eagerly for his comeback since his hibernation after the debacle of ‘Zero’ and they’re waiting for this action-filled thriller shown in its teaser to do well as far as box office collection is concerned. In spite of the controversy, on the YRF YouTube channel alone where the song was officially released, the song ‘Besharam Rang’ has garnered 110 million views at the time of writing this article and that too just in 11 days and it continues to be in trend for the music lovers.
Another song of the movie by the name of ‘Jhoome Jo Pathaan’ has been released and how this song does will be known only after a few days. Aditya Chopra for Yash Raj films has produced the movie. Siddharth Anand is the director. The movie is going to be released in Hindi, Tamil as well as Telugu and the date is going to coincide with Indian Republic day which can give the fans of Shahrukh and Deepika a great opportunity to go and watch. People are also very much entusiastic to see the role of John Abraham in the movie and the little cameo of Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan will too be interesting for the fans. As far as the budget of the movie is concerned, it’s 250 crores.
Fate of the movie: will it be successful?
As far as the fate of the movie is concerned, it is true that it is got even a better promotion due to its controversy but whether it does well at the box office or not, only time will tell. Will it be successful after so much of a hype or it will also prove to be a dud, you can see all this only after 25th of January.
